    Q
Can I use Hi-Yield Lawn, Garden, Pet and Livestock Insect Control to control fire ants around blueberry bushes?
    A

While Hi-Yield Lawn, Garden, Pet and Livestock Insect Control is labeled for fire ants and for use on blueberries it does not specifically list ants as a targeted pest when spraying blueberries. A better option would be Ferti-Lome Come and Get It! Fire Ant Killer. It uses the naturally occurring active ingredient Spinosad to control fire ants in your lawn, and in and around your plants. This product can be used in lawns and other turfgrass areas; recreational areas, including golf courses, parks, playgrounds, and playing fields; ornamentals growing outdoors; tree nuts, citrus, stone fruit, tree fruit, and vegetables. The bait granules are taken back to the colony to be fed to other ants. You will begin to see results from Ferti-Lome Come and Get It! Fire Ant Killer within 12-24 hours with full colony control in 3-14 days.

  • Asked by Howard from Vail, Az

    Q
Is Hi-Yield Lawn, Garden, Pet and Livestock Insect Control safe to use in a vegetable garden where there may be bees?
I am looking for something that we can use in our Vegetable garden to fight a grasshopper problem... but I noticed in an earlier question where this is not bee safe. Bees are part of the pollination process... will this actually kill the bees as they are pollinating my garden?
    A

Most insecticides are non-selective, so what would kill one insect would kill another. It is generally recommended not to spray flowering plants and to avoid spraying in the middle of the day when pollinators are most active. This would be recommended when using Hi-Yield Lawn, Garden, Pet and Livestock Insect Control.

    Q
Will Hi-Yield Lawn, Garden, Pet and Livestock Insect Control kill bed bugs in my homes?
What ratio of product to water should I mix to kill and control bedbugs inside my home?
    A

Hi-Yield Lawn, Garden, Pet and Livestock Insect Control while labeled to treat for bedbugs it is labeled to treat crack and crevices indoors in poultry houses and animal quarters, but not inside a residential home. We would recommend you use one of our Bed Bug Kits which contains all the products needed to get an eradication of a bed bug infestation.

Also please see out Bed Bug Treatment Guide to see how to get the best usage out of the products in our kits.

    Q
Can I use Hi-Yield Lawn, Garden, Pet and Livestock Insect Control on my kids?
My kids got lice over the holidays. I have some of this that I use on my dog and cattle. My kids are pretty hairy, so the lice got to them pretty bad. these kids eat just about anything so I'm not particularly worried about the product causing harm, they are tough children.
    A

Hi-Yield Lawn, Garden, Pet and Livestock Insect Control cannot be applied to children or adults. We recommend that you treat their hair with box product available locally for lice treatments. We would recommend that you launder bedding, clothing etc in heat. We do offer Steri-Fab that can be applied to mattresses and other upholstered areas. NyGuard Plus can be applied to listed surfaces in the home when the children are not present until dry.
