How can I locate the water and plumbing pipes under the basement to avoid pipe damage during concrete drilling?

My house is 2 story town house with a finished basement. I found termite activity in the basement wall close to the walk out door. I finished outside trenching using Termidor SC. I need to drill holes in the concrete slab in the basement to do the concrete underneath with Termidor SC treatment. How can I locate the water and plumbing pipes to avoid pipe damage during concrete drilling? Also, the walls between my house and both my neighbors are made of hollow concrete blocks. Should I drill in the wall blocks to do the hollow block treatment? Or the under concrete treatment would be enough? Kindly advice.

Answer:

You should call the utility company or the county office that handles marking lines and pipes.  Most counties will come and mark before you drill and they have equipment that can tell where the pipes are before you drill.
