How do I know if I have a tick infestation?

For four weeks, a puppy with lots of ticks stayed in one room of my house. During the first week, I found and removed a blood-engorged tick that was crawling up the wall. I also saw another tick on the floor and removed it. Five days after the puppy was gone, I found a mature brown dog tick crawling up the molding around a door. Three days later, I found another one on the floor of the opposite side of the room, near the baseboard. In the five days since the last tick, I have not seen any more. Three days ago, I set up a dry ice trap for 3 hours in the room, and it did not attract any ticks. Could I have a tick infestation?

Answer:

We would recommend speaking with a local pest control operator to see the extent of the infestation if there is one. We would also recommend treating the area once you do have an answer.
