How do you know if the products in the Indoor Carpenter Ant Bait Kit are being taken back to the nest?

I put out the poison yesterday and now there are a lot of dead ants, but are any making it back to the colony? Are they dying too soon?

Answer:

Yes, even though you are seeing high numbers of dead ants so soon with using the Indoor Carpenter Ant Bait Kit, ants are still able to take the bait back and eliminate the colony. Both active ingredients in the gel and granule baits are "delayed reaction" allowing it to transfer throughout the ant colony. Continue check the bait placements once a week and replenish as needed until ant activity has ceased. 
 
As long as the ants are consuming the bait, the treatment is working.
