According to the Hi-Yield 2,4-D product label:  To control broadleaf weeds in small areas with a hand sprayer, use 1 pint of this product in 3 gallons 3/4 gallon of water and spray to thoroughly wet all foliage (4 fluid ounces in ¾ gallon). This would be 5.3 oz in 1 gallon of water for spot treatments.
