How quickly can i use Mesotrione post emergent after laying down this product?

Hi, i like to control clover and other weeks with Meso4 Select post emergent, but i would like to use this product concurrently with Meso4. Is that possible? I dont want to harm the lawn. If so, how long after applying this pre emergent should i spray with Meso4 Select?

Answer:

If you are applying this product as a pre-emergent herbicide (no surfactant), then you should irrigate the application with 1/4" - 1/2" of water immediately after application for best results. It can be applied in addition to other pre-emergent herbicides, including Fertilome Gallery. It is really only used as a pre-emergent for full lawn renovations, since it's really not meant to be broadcast over large areas of established lawn, as it does cause temporary whitening of your turf.   You would follow the instructions on both product labels. If you are applying Prime Source Meso 4SC Select (Generic Tenacity Herbicide) as a post-emergent herbicide with surfactant (to kill existing weeds), then you should wait at least 24 hours before watering the treatment area. Post applications are typically applied in the fall at the time of overseeding. We do offer other products for selective broadleaf control in turf that can be applied along with a pre-emergent application. Pre-emergents are most effective when applied at the appropriate time in your area and prior to the ground temperature reaching 55 degrees. Fall and Spring applications are suggested if not seeding.
