Are used half a tablespoon per 1 gallon and it's been two days since I sprayed I do not see any thing happening yet. So how long does it take to kill the thistle plant?
Herbicides can take any where from a few days to 2 weeks to kill weeds depending on the weed type, weather conditions, how established the weeds are and the application rate when applied. Be sure you are applying per the product label rates and instructions. Monterey Thistledown is applied at rates between 3/16 fl oz to 1/2 fl. oz (1/3 tbsp to 1 tbsp) per 1,000 sq. ft. in 2 gallons of water when weeds are young and actively growing. Please refer to the rate chart on page 2/3 of the product label for rates by the specific variety of thistle you are targeting.
