Drive XLR8 herbicide is a selective post-emergent herbicide that controls crabgrass.

Using a proprietary, water-based formula,  Drive XLR8 can also be used to control torpedograss, kikuyugrass, and broadleaf weeds like clover, dandelion, dollarweed, and wild violet.

Before you prepare Drive XLR8 herbicide for application, be sure to put on your personal protective equipment, including gloves, closed-toe shoes, and pants.

If you are using a hand pump sprayer, fill your sprayer ¾ full of water, then add .5 to 1.45 fluid ounces of Drive XLR8 for every 1,000 square feet of area you will be treating.

Read the product label to determine how much product you will need for the weeds you are trying to control. Then, add 0.55 fluid ounces of a methylated seed oil or high-level surfactant to the tank. Finally, finish filling the tank with water. Add the cap and shake the tank to thoroughly mix the product.

When using a backpack sprayer, fill the sprayer halfway with water, then add the amount of Drive XLR8 herbicide needed for your application. Add the cap to the sprayer and shake to agitate. Remove the cap and add your methylated seed oil or high-level surfactant, then replace the cap and shake to agitate again.

Finally, remove the cap, fill the rest of the tank with water, then replace the cap and shake to agitate again. Agitate the tank occasionally when spraying to ensure the product remains mixed as you are applying.

Spray Drive XLR8 to weeds as a spot spray or across your yard in a broadcast application if your weed infestation is severe.

Weeds will absorb Drive XLR8 then move throughout the plant, eventually dying. Because of this mode of action, Drive XLR8 will work best on weeds that are not under stress due to drought, extreme hot or cold temperatures, injury from other herbicides, or the shock of mowing.

Do not mow your lawn two days before or after applying. Make sure the outside temperature is not above 80 degrees or below 55 degrees.

Do not water or irrigate your lawn 24 hours after applying Drive XLR8.

When used according to the label, half a gallon of drive will cover 1 acre of turf. The product can also be tank mixed with other post-emergent herbicides for residual control of weeds.

Be sure to read the Drive XLR8 label to determine mixing rates and if the herbicide can be safely used on your grass-type.
