I have noticed dry wood termite frass coming from the top of a bedroom window. The exterior of the house is wood siding and stucco. The wood siding is the top 2 feet, and the stucco is the bottom 8 feet. I see evidence of termite tubes on the wood siding next to the bedroom window. The wood siding is weathered and needs painting. So Boracare before painting the wood would make sense, right? Would Termidor foam be appropriate? If so, injection from outside or inside or both?
If termites tubes are present then you likely have subterranean termites that you need to treat for with Termidor SC in the soil around the foundation of the home. The Termidor will transfer through the colony to eliminate any in the ground and in the home but you can do spot treatments with the concentrate or the foam in the areas of walls where you know there is activity. You could possibly have drywood termites as well if you live in a coastal region and in that case you could either direct treat with a foam to eliminate the colony, or the wood that has that form of termites in it, could be treated with Boracare. The Boracare would be the best product to use as protection of raw wood that is to be painted or sealed. You can see the full instruction on how to do a treatment for subterranean termites below.
