    Q
What is the spreader setting for the Scott's Spreader to apply Howard Johnsons Dimension 0.27G Herbicide?
    A

Unfortunately, we do not have the spreader settings for that specific combo, and since the manufacturer does not list that spreader on their bag we are unsure what the exact setting would be. Due to the thousands of granules on the market and just as many different types of spreaders, there isn't a master list that exists. You may want to try calling the manufacturer of your spreader or the chemical itself directly, to see if anyone on their staff has that info. Otherwise, you will want to calibrate your spreader to the product you are using and its application rates.

Please view our How to Calibrate your Spreader video HERE for instructions and tutorial on how to do this.

    Q
How early I put Howard Johnsons Dimension out in Eastern SC, temp here is around 60 this week but 80 this week?
    A
The general rule for spring is to apply your Howard Johnsons Dimension 0.27G Herbicide treatment after the ground has thawed from the winter but before the temperature of your soil reaches 55 degrees, as that is when crabgrass begins to germinate. Other weeds will germinate when the soil temperature is between 55 and 65 degrees. You can use a soil thermometer to determine the temperature of your lawn/area. You will want to measure the temperature of the soil a few inches below ground.

  • Asked by Andrew from Charlotte, Nc

    Q
Can you advise on the spreader settings for some of the more popular spreaders (Scotts, Earthway, The Andersons, etc) for applying Howard Johnsons Dimension 0.27G Herbicide?
    A

Due to thousands of granular herbicides and fertilizers on the market and the various different spreader models available, we are not able to know the spreader settings appropriate for each herbicide for different model spreaders .

When the manufacturer of a product does not provide spreader settings for the specific spreader equipment being used, you will need to calibrate your spreader to determine the correct settings for accuracy of rates before applying your product.

You can refer to our helpful video on How to Calibrate a Lawn Spreader for step by step instructions.

    Q
Will Howard Johnsons Dimension 0.27G Herbicide target nutsedge and clover?
    A

Howard Johnsons Dimension 0.27G Herbicide is labeled for pre emergent control of clover (hop) and one of the top pre emergents for crabgrass as well as many other broadleaf and grassy weeds however it is not listed for nutsedge.

The only pre-emergent for yellow nutsedge is Pennant Magnum and this can be used only in warm season turf.

For post emergent control when nutsedge and clover are actively growing, Dismiss NXT would be recommended. This product is labeled for warm and cool season turfgrasses. Please view the product label for rates and more information.
