Help your lawn, ornamentals, and garden thrive with our selection of humic acid. Humic acid is made of molecules that bind to water and nutrients. When mixed with soil, humic acid helps plants by adding nutrients and moisture to their soil, targeting areas around plant roots. This helps turf, flowers, and vegetables grow stronger and healthier.
Humic acid is safe to use on lawns and gardens, especially in formulations specifically designed for use in landscapes. It is derived from compounds made from decomposing organic matter and contains micronutrients and macronutrients, including carbon, nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium (NPK). Humic acid will balance the pH of your soil, lowering pH in more alkaline soils and increasing pH in more acidic soils. Humic acid also “unlocks” nutrients already found in soil that plants may not be able to absorb due to a low or high pH rate.
Humic acid helps plants and turf by increasing the ability of soil to hold nutrients. When nutrients are then added through fertilizer, roots will grow strong. Germination rates of seeds will also improve with humic acid in the soil.
Apply humic acid to your yard in granular or liquid form. Granular humic acid should be added using a granular spreader, walking back and forth across your lawn to distribute evenly. Water your lawn after application unless the label of your product specifically prohibits watering-in. Check the label of your humic acid for spreader settings for optimal application.
Liquid humic acid should be mixed with water and applied with a sprayer. Read the label of your product for mixing rates and how often to reapply.
You can also add humic acid to potted plants and mix with compost. Shop above for various humic acid formulations. If you have any questions about the application rates of humic acid or how to use a product, give our customer service team a call at 866-581-7378 or email [email protected].
