Ideal distance from concrete slab in South Florida (sandy soil, lots for rain)?

The directions I read said to install 2-4 feet away from the foundation but not under the drip line. The drip line is 2ft from the house. Unfortunately, I have walkways around a good portion of the house, 3ft from the house. Is there a reason they might advise not to put inside the dripline, closer to the house, say at 1 ft from the slab? Directions mentioned not being in super high moisture w/ decent drainage to avoid molding (we get a ton of summer rain) so I would think putting a foot away from the slab might be the best bet in my situation (1 ft inside the dripline instead of a foot outside the dripline)? Also, are any tips installed in sandy soil with a post-hole digger so the soil is not disturbed so much? I read disturbing soil is not ideal for getting termites to take the bait, but holes here lose shape as sand just falls back in the hole.

Answer:

Advance Termite Bait Stations should be placed 2-4 feet away from the foundation, but not directly under the drip line from the roof of the structure at 10ft to 20ft intervals. To dig holes for the stations, use a 2 ¾ in. hand or electric auger or post hole digger. The cavity for each station should extend 2 to 4 in. below the stations’ housing to allow excess moisture to drain.
