Concentrates are not considered to be contact kills, especially for wasp and hornets. Even if you got close enough with a hand pump sprayer, which do not spray that far, the spray would not kill a wasp or hornet fast enough. They would die, but not right away. You can spray surfaces so when bees land on the surface they will prick up the spray and die, but they will not die right away. The only product that provides fast knockdown of larger flying insects like wasps and hornets is Wasp Freeze, which comes in an aeorosl can but it shoots over 15 feet so you can knock them down from a safe distance.
