Indoxacarb is a white powdered solid material formulated as a wettable granule and soluble concentrate. Indoxacarb is considered a suitable, "low-toxicity", synthetic organophosphate replacement. Pest control products containing Indoxacarb as an active ingredient are typically used on a wide range of crops for ants, roaches, and other sucking pests.
Indoxacarb: Mode of Action
Indoxacarb begins working when target pests either come into contact with the chemical or ingest treated foliage and fruit. Once absorbed or ingested, Indoxacarb inhibits the flow of sodium ions into nerve cells, resulting in impaired nerve function, inability to feed, paralysis, and eventually death. This process begins immediately but it may take several days for the insect to die.
