Jacklyn from Phoenix writes

Is Bonide Liquid Copper Fungicide Concentrate safe to use for a dichondra lawn that has turned brown during a very hot Phoenix, AZ, summer?

not sure if it has a fungus or watering and 116 degree weather but my dichondra is turning brown rapidly in patches. Can I use Copper Fungicide to help it come back? Bonide brand

Answer:

If it is that hot, then your dichondra may just be under heat stress. A fungicide like Bonide Liquid Copper may not help when temperatures are that hot. Dichondra does not respond well to over-watering or watering that is too frequent, so be sure you are watering less often and more deeply rather than every few days. If you have dichondra rust, then you can use Propiconazole 14.3 to treat this disease, but try to apply in the morning or evening when temperatures are cooler.
