ExciteR Insecticide is not specifically labeled for hornets but is labeled for wasps at the rate of 2.125 to 4.25 fl oz per gallon of water. View the product label for more information regarding application areas. Since ExciteR is a contact kill only pyrethrin insecticide, we would recommend adding ExciteR in the tank mix with a residual insecticide like Talstar P for combination of contact kill + residual. Tasltar P is mixed at 1 fl oz per gallon of water. For ground hornets, drenching the soil where the nest is located is an effective method as well as using dusting the openings/holes where the colony enters and exits the nest. Tempo 1% Dust or Delta Dust would be the recommended product for dusting ground hornets/wasps/yellow jacket nests.
