We have a minor tick problem and need something to spray on lawn and shrubs that targets ticks but won't hurt flowers and especially bees.
Permethrin, the active ingredient in Hi-Yield Lawn, Garden, Pet and Livestock, is not selective and can harm bees that land on treated areas. Mavrik Perimeter is the only product that we are aware of that is labeled to help control ticks and is not toxic to bees and is safe to spray on ornamental plants. You should only apply the product when bees are not actively foraging in the area and once it has dried it will be safe for the bees.
