Is it necessary to water thoroughly after application before the lawn is safe for pets and children?
Package only says not to water for at least 24 hours. Is it necessary to water in and/or wash away the product before the lawn is safe for children and pets?

The Scotts Turf Builder Weed and Feed 3 should be applied to lawns that are already wet or damp from a previous irrigation, rain, or morning dew before applying, so that the granules stick to the leaf surface of the grass and weeds. Since this is a post-emergent herbicide, no watering in or rain is recommended, like other granules on the market, to avoid washing the granules from the surface. In situations like this, we recommend keeping pets out of the treated area at the very least for several hours up to a day after treatment if possible.
