Is it possible to control gypsy mothinfestations with application only to tree trunks?

Mature an dvery tall trees prevent reaching leaves with spray.

Per the product label, mix 2 fl. ozs. of Thuricide per 3 gallons of water (4 tsp. per gallon) for a handsprayer or proportional amounts for a hose-end sprayer following Manufacturer’s
Directions. Apply at first sign of infestation and repeat at weekly intervals when
