Bedlam Plus is specifically labeled for use on furniture. Apply to tufts, folds, edges, sides and seams until damp. Allow to dry before reuse. Do not spray the entire surface of the cushions or back as this is not necessary. As long as you follow the product label instructions you should not need to put anything over the treated areas.
