Barbara from Pasadena, Ca writes

Is it safe to use Turflon in areas with Carex pansa or Carex chisai without damage to these desirables?

I want to control oxalis; but don't want to damage the surrounding carex.

Answer:

Because Monterey Turflon Ester Herbicide is labeled for applications to cool season turf grasses and targets broadleaves and woody growth, it is possible that applying it to Carex varieties may not be harmful, as it is a cools season type of ground cover grass .  However, we suggest that you contact the manufacturer for clarification, and do a small spot test in an inconspicuous area first, if you do decide to apply it to Carex pansa or Carex chisai or similar desirable vegetation.
