Is Petroleum safe for cats to have in the PetAg Hairball Solution Gel For Cats maintenance dose?

I've heard that this is not a safe option, but my cat will not eat soft chews for hairball prevention.

PetAg Hairball Solution Gel For Cats is not labeled for use with additional Petroleum properties. The product does contain White Petrolatum in it, but a safe mixture for cats.
