Is termites emerging from soil directly after Termidor SC treatment normal?

Hi, I just performed a treatment of Termidor SC around the foundation of my house. While digging the trench along my foundation I discovered a small pocket of active subterranean termites (the nasty little white-ish ones, not winged) in the soil right around 6" down. After pouring in the treatment, spraying down the backfill thoroughly, and backfilling, I came back about 2 hours later to find the termites emerging from the soil and making their way along the foundation towards the bottom of my siding. Is this normal, for them to come up out of the soil after a treatment? I've seen the winged termites come out of the ground but never the subterranean ones.

Answer:

It is normal to see the termites emerging after a colony has been disturbed. They go into panic mode and begin to act out of character. As long as they were contacted by the treatment they will be eliminated.
