My spray system was installed mainly to control spiders. I live in a wooded area, and they are hard to control. I have stacked stone areas on my house, so I am sure that the spray from the eaves does not do much. Also, I see a few scorpions periodically in my pool and a few get into the house!
Riptide is an excellent product for misting systems, but it does not leave a residual behind. Vector-Bans active ingredient, Permethrin, does leave a bit of a residual so it may do a better job eliminating spiders for you. Spiders and scorpions are much harder to kill than your regular run of the mill insects. You may be required to actually go out and spray the stacked stone areas as these stones offer the perfect harborage for spiders and scorpions. You should not rely on insecticides alone for insect control, you should instead do an inspection around your property and change things to make the environment less suitable for the nuisance insects.
