I have chickens that free range, but not enough to take care of the the large amount of grasshoppers. If I use this and grasshoppers ingest them, will it harm my chickens if they eat the grasshoppers. Or if they ingest the granules .
Niban Granular Bait is not labeled for grasshoppers, and we are not aware of a bait for them. Instead, you may use a product such as Bifen IT. Bifen IT is labeled to be used in poultry houses and chicken pens, so it should not harm your chickens even if they eat the grass. The small amount of active ingredient is only enough to kill a small insect. You must make sure your chickens are out of the area while you apply Bifen and then they can return to the area as soon as it is completely dry.
