Tri-Die is animal safe when used as directed on the product label. Tri-Die must only be used in cracks, crevices and voids. You should not spray Tri-Die out into the flowerbeds. Talstar P would be a better choice for this type of treatment. It is gentle on plants, safe to use around pets and people and labeled for a wide variety of insects including spiders. Spiders can be a bit tougher to kill than other insects because they do not groom themselves and ingest the product like other insects and take longer to receive a lethal dose of the insecticide. Having said that, using Talstar P would also kill the other insects that the spiders need for food, forcing the spiders to move to better hunting grounds or starve. We would also like to add that spiders and centipedes outdoors are largely beneficial as they kill other insects such as roaches, mosquitoes, gnats, wasps, ants ..... To stop them from moving indoors you can spray around your door frames, window frames, in a band about 3 feet up the foundation and out onto the ground in a 3-5 foot band around the base of your home.
