    Q
Is there a risk to dogs that may eat a poisoned rat that is dead or lethargic from JT Eaton Apple Bait Block Rodenticide but not dead yet?
    A

According to the manufacturer, there is a medium risk and an antidote of Vitamin K1 is available through your local vet if a dog consumed a portion of the bait. JT Eaton Apple Bait Block Rodenticide should be stored away from extreme temperatures and away from pets. It is applied in tamper resistant stations to avoid pets, wildlife and children from gaining access to the product. Most domestic animals will not consume an entire rodent. It would take them consuming multiple dead rodents that consumed the product. If your pet shows any abnormal symptoms, please contact your vet and provide the SDS.

    Q
Will the rodents die outside after eating JT Eaton Apple Bait Block Rodenticide?
I worry about a horrible smell.
    A

Rodents that eat the JT Eaton Apple Bait Block Rodenticide (709-AP) will not necessarily go outside to die. There is a high possibility they will die indoors and then you will be dealing with a very foul odor for at least a few weeks. We would recommend trapping rodents indoors using snap traps or glueboards. Trapping eliminates odor problems by allowing you to dispose of the carcass. Please read over our article regarding eliminating rodents indoors for more information.
