Good Purchase
By Lisa on 11/24/2013
After receiving this product I realized that the black insert is plastic. After some time the rodents will eat the plastic and the box will need to be modified. The shell is very sturdy and it has a type of hex key to lock the top and bottom together. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend it.

Well engineered
By Bob on 01/09/2011
The product is well engineered. I was happy with the product. Unfortunately, the case had some damaged tops that I had to repair to use. One of the tops was tweaked and did not fit the station. Several of the tops had the tabs mashed which I straightened. One of the hardware bags did not contain the same amount of pieces as the others. I have put 7 of the 12 stations out so far and hopefully have do not have any issues with the others that I can't fix.

Keeps out dogs and wildlife

Heavy duty
By Michael on 09/20/2015
Rat bait stations arrived quickly after order and it was easy to assemble. I believe the four I ordered will last a long time in the fields around my house. I placed these in areas that receive full sunlight year round as I believe the sun would eventually cause the all plastic ones that I also use to crack.

Dog and Coon proof
By Dan on 02/29/2020
My dogs used to destroy the plastic stations, They have never been able breech the strongbox and they now ignore them. This station is well made, strong and stands up to weather and wildlife. I just received my second case. I recommend checking your stations quarterly to ensure the mice do not make it into your house.

Metal beats Plastic
By Bill on 09/04/2020
The raccoons like the vole bait blocks and chewed up the Eaton top loader bait stations (plastic) to get to it. They would rip them out of the ground even though they were anchored. STRONGBOX seems to have resolved the problem. Now the bait is working on the voles and not feeding the raccoons who do not seem to be affected. Have not needed to go hunting for my bait stations since placing STRONGBOXs.

Strong Shell
By Salf on 07/01/2022
Lightweight, so put bricks on it otherwise it will easily move. but will keep squirrels from eating through it. However, young squirrels can easily get inside through the holes. Block them a bit more and/or make it a bit more convoluted inside. (The box did NOT come with the horizontal rods, that are supposed to be included. Customer service sent some right away, but they are the wrong size.)
Sturdy
By Mike on 07/01/2022
Seems well made and sturdy. Bottom is drilled to allow attachment for holding it in place. Screwed mine to a metal plank to prevent racoons from carrying it away. Would have awarded 5 stars but the bait holder rod was missing. An email to Do my own had a bait holder rod sent out the next day. Went with a metal versus plastic bait station to prevent damage from non target species.
Strong Box Metal Bait Station Resists Predator Chewing
By Ed on 05/05/2023
I've used a commercial rodent control business for several years and the biggest issue I've had was that Raccoons and Skunks will chew through the plastic outer housings exposing the poisonous bait to pets and other animals. These metal boxes prevent chewing of the box and have a robust screw to hold the lid shut. I purchased the 12-Pack Case and the 4-Pack of All Weather Rodenticide in 4 lb buckets. These are now placed around the buildings on our farm and I no longer have to pay for a commercial service that uses inferior products.
