    Q
Your info sheet says The Blackout "allows easier indentification of early instars." What does that mean?
Why would black color be easier than white color. That seems counter intuitive.
    A

Beg bug eggs and early stages are lighter colorer and almost white which shows up better on a black surface such as the Blackout Bed Bug Detector than a lighter or white surface.

    Q
How high are the inner and outer walls of the Blackout Bed Bug Detector?
Why not publish a dimensional drawing of the BBBD. That would eliminate all of these dimensional questions! If you have one, which you must, please send me one.
    A

We apologize but we do not have a dimensional drawing for the Blackout Bed Bug Detector. The height of the inner wall is 3/4 inch and outer wall is 1 inch.  No matter the height of the walls it is designed to trap bed bugs so it is generally not a questionable concern.

    Q
How does the Blackout Bed Bug Detector work if the bugs are in your mattress?
    A

The Blackout Bed Bug Detector  will not be effective if they do not enter the trap; this is a monitoring trap to help determine level of infestation and from where the bed bugs are traveling. We recommend encasing your mattress and box spring if the bedbugs are already inside the mattress. You can also treat with Steri-Fab and Bedlam. Steri-Fab is applied to the mattress and box spring. Once dry, you can spray Bedlam around the edges, tufts, folds and seams of the mattress.

    Q
What lures bed bugs into the LightsOut Bed Bug Detector?
    A

LightsOut Bed Bug Detector works based on a bed bugs natural movement and instincts to travel to where we sleep and rest. The dark color of these interceptors is also attractive to bed bugs as well as the textured exterior allows bed bugs to climb in and get trapped.
