    Q
If I'm doing a soil drench in 3 gallon pots, how much Marathon II Insecticide do I use per gallon to kill root aphids?
    A

According to the Soil Drench & Irrigation Chart on page 9 of the product label for a 3 Gallon Pot, Marathon II Insecticide would treat 220-165 pots at the labeled rate of 1.7 fl oz in sufficient water volume to wet the potting medium. To avoid leaching, use 1.7 fl. oz. (50 mL) of Marathon II Insecticide in the appropriate amount of water to treat the number of pots based on the pot size as stated in the table.

If you are only treating a few potted plants, OHP Marathon 1% Granular or Bonide Systemic Granules would be alternatives to treat for root aphids. These products are applied as a topical application directly to the top of the soil, lightly mixed in not to disturb the roots and then watered in with sufficient water volume to move and dissolve the granules into the soil.

For a 3 Gallon Pot, OHP Marathon 1% Granular is applied at 3 2/3 to 7 1/3 level teaspoons per plant and Bonide Systemic Granules, is applied at 1/2 cup per plant. View the full product labels for more information.
