    Q
Will Mavrik Perimeter control crane fly larvae?
Is Mavrik Perimeter effective in eliminating crane fly larvae in lawns? I am looking for an insecticide that is safe for honey bees, but will kill crane fly larvae. Once applied, how long does Mavrik last? Thank you.
    A

Mavrik Perimeter is not labeled for crane flies. It is also not labeled for a broadcast treatment across your lawn. It is mainly used for use around ornamentals and the perimeter of your home.

A granule insecticide, such as Talstar Xtra, would be a good option for you to use. It is labeled for crane fly larvae and because of how and where you are using it, bees should not be affected. Be sure not to apply this product when bees are not actively foraging, which would be during the day. This product does need to be watered in to activate.

    Q
What is the residual for Mavrik Perimeter when treating for mosquitoes?
The product label is a little vague with 14-28 days so asking what a realistic expectation to give customer.
    A

Mavrik Perimeter provides more a knockdown/quick kill of the listed insects listed on the product labelDepending on the severity of pest infestations, a re-treatment may be necessary at 7–14 days for heavier mosquito populations but typical retreatments can be done every 28 days for low or general pest control maintenance applications.

    Q
Can you spray lawn for fire ants
    A
Per the Mavrik Perimeter Product Label regarding use sites, "Perimeter applications are made to a band of soil and/or vegetation 6 to 10feet wide around and adjacent to the structure."
Full lawn applications for ants or any other pest cannot be made with the Mavrik. You can however treat Fire Ant Mounds directly.

    Q
Is Maverick also toxic to fish like the other common insecticides?
    A

Yes, as stated on the product label, "This product is toxic to fish and aquatic organisms. To protect the environment, do not allow pesticides to enter or run off into storm drains, drainage ditches, gutters or surface waters. Applying this product in calm weather when rain is not predicted for the next 24 hours will help to ensure that wind or rain does not blow or wash pesticide off the treatment area. Rinsing application equipment over the treated area will help avoid runoff to water bodies or drainage systems. Use with care when applying in areas adjacent to any body of water. Drift and runoff from treated areas may be hazardous to fish and aquatic organisms in adjacent aquatic sites. Do not apply when weather conditions favor drift from the target area."
