    Is the Maxforce FC Fire Ant Bait safe to use around dogs?
    A
    The Maxforce FC Fire Ant Bait is a safe product to use around pets when applied correctly.  Of course, you want to keep the container with all of the product in it out of reach of children and pets as you would any other pest control or cleaning product.  This product is meant to be applied in small quantities by either broadcasting it in your yard or placing a small amount around existing ant mounds.  This quantity is not enough for a pet to get sick, it is only enough to effect small ants.  Many professional pest control companies use this product often on their pest control accounts with children and pets.

    I think I have fire ants, but I am not sure. Will Maxforce FC Fire Ant Bait work on other ants?
    Maxforce Hydramethylnon fire ant killer has worked well in the past. It has been discontinued and this is its replacement. Does the new product have the same spectrum of activity against various ants?
    A
    Maxforce FC Fire Ant Bait is only labeled for the red imported fire ant. While other ants may take the bait, this product was either not tested for them or the success rate was not high enough for the manufacturer to include them on the label. We do have a product called Maxforce Complete Granular Bait that is labeled for most ants including fire ants and it contains hydramethylnon which has worked well for you in the past.

    We recommend that you use the container of Maxforce Fc Fire Ant Bait within 6 months to insure that the bait is not stale.

    How does Maxforce FC Fire Ant Bait compare to Top Choice?
    A

    Maxforce FC Fire Ant Bait and Top Choice both contain the same active ingredient. Top Choice fire ant bait is applied by licensed pest operators only. Maxforce FC Fire Ant Bait can be applied by homeowners outside in the lawn for fire ant control. I have included our article on Fire Ant Control below for more information.

    Does Maxforce FC Fire Ant Bait work on tawny ants?
    I have two acres and want to control them in my yard.

    Unfortnately, Maxforce FC Fire Ant Bait is not labeled for tawny ants. We would recommended Invict Blitz Any Granules instead which is labeled for tawny ants.

    When will the 2 pound jug of Maxforce FC Fire Ant Bait be back in stock?
    I bought this in a 2 lb. jug and love it. The ants take I underground and the colony dies in about a week. Now you don't have eithe the two lb. or 10 lb. in stock. When will it come back? Is this a protein based or sugar based bait?

    Unfortunately the 2 lb jug of Maxforce FC Fire Ant Bait has been discontinued by the manufacturer and we are not sure if they will make the 2 lb jugs in the future. We do carry the 10 lb bags of Maxforce FC Fire Ant Bait.
