    Q
What are the best products to treat for roaches in a small apartment along with Maxforce FC Magnum?
I was considering using Gentrol IGR, Bonide Boric Acid, and glue boards. Would this be good or do you recommend something better? I have used bombs and sprays but these seem to only work for direct contact spray.
    A

One of our Roach Control Kits would be recommended for roach control.  These professional kits includes non-staining, low odor concentrated insecticide for spraying the outside perimeter of the home and inside underneath appliances, behind cabinets, under toilets and sinks, etc. You'll also get Roach Bait Gel to help get rid of those roaches that like to hide. Baits can be applied up high in the kitchen in the corner of cabinets and in cracks and crevices in kitchens and bathrooms. The bait contains a slow-acting poison that attracts and kills feeding roaches, who also spread the bait to other roaches by contact or by sharing food. Finally, an Insect Growth Regulator is offered which will stop roaches from laying eggs, helping to halt the infestation. The combination of an IGR with roach bait is a highly effective roach control strategy that is widely used by pest control professionals. The insecticide must be applied with a 1 gallon pump sprayer.

    Q
How much of an area will a 33 gram tube of Maxforce FC Magnum cover?
    A

The application rate of Maxforce FC Magnum will vary depending upon the level of infestation and species to be controlled. Generally, Each 33 g tube yields approximately 33 bait placements and treats 11 to 44 square yards, depending on infestation.

    Standard Application Rates

*0.75 g per square yard €“ maintenance programs for continuous control (will not provide fast control of existing infestations)

*Up to 1.5 g per square yard €“ light to moderate infestations, retreatments

*Up to 3.0 g per square yard €“ clean out of severe or heavy infestations

*1-2 g per square yard €“ large cockroaches such as American, Smoky-Brown, or Oriental

    **0.1 g equals approx. ¼ in. diameter spot; 1.0 g equals approx. dime-sized spot.

Apply gel as round spots or thin beads into cracks and crevices or as a spot treatment. Place bait close to cockroach harborages, foraging and feeding areas such as corners and cracks and crevices. Numerous smaller bait placements provide faster control than fewer larger placements. In cases of severe infestation and areas with excessive clutter or alternative food sources that cannot be eliminated, use the higher rate of application.

    Q
What would be the appropriate way to clean up the Maxforce FM Magnum if spilled?
While applying the bait near the baseboards in my kitchen I accidentally dropped some in a high traffic area where my toddler runs frequently. I just wanted to make sure I took the correct precautions.
    A

We advise using soap and water to remove any excess Maxforce FC Magnum gel bait in the area. Old bait can sometime be removed easily with a paper towel and/or a paint scraper or similar tool. Be sure that you do not use any strong cleaning agents in areas where you plan to apply bait since the lingering odors or residues from these products can make bait less attractive to the roaches.

    Q
Will Maxforce FC Magnum become contaminated if I fog using ul100 at the same time as I apply the bait?
    A
If you are going to fog and bait, be sure to fog first. Wait a day or so and then bait. Please review our article on bait placement.  If you fog over the bait, it will cause the bait to be less effective. We would also recommend using one of our Roach Control kits

    Q
I live in basement apartment which has "water bugs"(large) roaches
Exterminators have come and sprayed, but this was ineffective. Most recent exterminator visit he used a roach bait, which seemed to work pretty well. I do have 2 young children visiting me 2x a week, so I heed a bait which is safe, and approved for use in New York.
    A
We would recommend using Maxforce FC Magnum. It is a very good bait gel that can be placed in cabinets, drawers, counters, etc. We would also recommend an IGR (insect growth regulator). This stops roaches from reproducing. The Gentrol Point Sources can be placed around the apartment in various places. They last for up to 3 months. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
