I mixed Sevin Concentrate 8 oz to two gallons of water and poured it on the base of some pine trees.

Obviously, I was confused about how to apply Sevin, but was concerned about bugs in the roots of some trees.

Answer:

Sevin Concentrate is not labeled for soil drench applications and would really have very little effect on insects that directly contact the soil surface. For more information, please contact the manufacturer at 866-945-5033 (Garden Tech).
