    Q
How often do I need to reapply Sluggo Plus Snail & Slug Killer and what area size can I can treat.
Do i need to apply it all over my yard or lawn?
    A
Apply Sluggo evenly at approximately 0.5 to 1 lb. per 1,000 square feet, or for smaller areas, 0.075 to 0.15 oz., or 0.5 to 1 teaspoon, per square yard. Each 1 lb container of Sluggo can cover up to 2,000 sq ft. You should reapply every 4 weeks or after heavy rains (not to exceed 3 applications per month). Treat all likely areas of infestation, especially around the perimeter of garden plots for slugs and snails, because these pests travel into plant areas from daytime refuges. They favor damp places around vegetable plants such as beans, tomatoes, lettuce, cabbage, celery and squash. Other favorite areas are flower gardens, rockeries, hedges, dichondra, lawns, ivy patches, and other ground cover where they obtain shelter by day. Please read the Sluggo product label for complete usage instructions.

    Q
What can I use to get rid of slugs in the house?
    A

If slugs are getting in the home then it sounds like you have some entry point that need to be sealed up or some moisture issues that need to be remedied to deter them from coming inside. You can also sprinkle snail and slug baits around the perimeter of the home to cut down on the population on your property as well. One of our top slug products is the Monterey Sluggo Plus. Apply bait evenly at approximately 0.5 to 1 lb. per 1,000 square feet, or for smaller areas, 0.075 to 0.15 oz., or 0.5 to 1 teaspoon, per square yard. Do not place in piles. Scatter the bait around the perimeter of the area to provide a protective “barrier” for pests entering the area. If the ground is dry, wet it before applying bait. Sluggo Plus works best when soil is moist but with little or no standing water.

    Q
Does Monterey Sluggo Plus work against hammerhead worms?
I understand that hammerhead worms are invasive and have no natural predators, but that they can be killed only with salt, bleach, or fire. And they quickly decimate earthworms. Does Sluggo Plus have any salt-like substance that would kill hammerhead worms if they consumed it?
    A

We do not recommend Monterey Sluggo Plus Snail & Slug Killer or any other products for control of hammerhead worms. These are a carnivorous invasive species, and we are not aware of any specific products to control them except perhaps salt or vinegar. You can learn more about these worms here.

    Q
Can you cut the grass two days after putting Sluggo out?
    A

The Monterey Sluggo Plus Snail & Slug Killer can be applied a few days before a mowing and that would be fine. The bait is designed to hold up to the outdoor elements for up to 4 weeks, but if you find any gets too disturbed in some places you mow, you can reapply if needed.
