If slugs are getting in the home then it sounds like you have some entry point that need to be sealed up or some moisture issues that need to be remedied to deter them from coming inside. You can also sprinkle snail and slug baits around the perimeter of the home to cut down on the population on your property as well. One of our top slug products is the Monterey Sluggo Plus. Apply bait evenly at approximately 0.5 to 1 lb. per 1,000 square feet, or for smaller areas, 0.075 to 0.15 oz., or 0.5 to 1 teaspoon, per square yard. Do not place in piles. Scatter the bait around the perimeter of the area to provide a protective “barrier” for pests entering the area. If the ground is dry, wet it before applying bait. Sluggo Plus works best when soil is moist but with little or no standing water.
Sluggo Plus is one of our most popular snali control products. It is a pelleted snail, slug and insect bait. You can find our full selection of snail control products here.
Monterey Sluggo Plus Snail & Slug Killer is not labeled to control thrips.
We do not recommend Monterey Sluggo Plus Snail & Slug Killer or any other products for control of hammerhead worms. These are a carnivorous invasive species, and we are not aware of any specific products to control them except perhaps salt or vinegar. You can learn more about these worms here.
The Monterey Sluggo Plus Snail & Slug Killer can be applied a few days before a mowing and that would be fine. The bait is designed to hold up to the outdoor elements for up to 4 weeks, but if you find any gets too disturbed in some places you mow, you can reapply if needed.
