Seems effective!
By Cole on 05/21/2019
I was a bit skeptical that this product would work, since we typically have a very heavy mosquito presence in our yard in the summer (these guys: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aedes_aegypti); however, we wanted to give it a try in order to spare the pollinators and other insects from an insecticide. I have now applied Mosquito Barrier to the yard twice, and it seems to work! While a few mosquitoes do seem to get through, the change has been very noticeable--our backyard is actually livable. I can't 100% chalk up this success to Mosquito Barrier, since the reduction could also be due to changes in the weather, etc. But I feel confident that it has helped!

I mix this liquid with highest rate, 3 oz per gallon of water and spent over 3 hours to spray over my yard, bushes, trees...and used over 3/4 gal of this bottle. When I spray direct to the mosquitoes, they still flying around, non of them falling down !!! The next day, I came out and check for the result... omg, there was no change at all. I was so disappointed.

Mosquito Barrier
By Janice on 06/21/2019
It may have slowed the mosquitoes a little but we still have many of them and granddaughter was bitten continuously as she plays out of doors a lot. They even got into the house. We sprayed two different times within two weeks and the second we used double the amount suggested. We still had to hire a professional.

Works
By Dave on 07/02/2019
Flat out works. I spray with 2oz per gallon every 2-3 weeks. No issues. Even sprayed 4 hrs before a freak huge down pour and it still lasted 2 weeks. Have done 3 other friends yards as well to get their opinion and all are overly satisfied. The negative reviews all seem to be with people mixing large amounts per gallon. I use a fogger machine, so maybe people using hose attachments are having issues. Not straining and using in a hose attachment could be the cause. More concentrate per gallon means more particles can get blocked and you're just spraying water. I'm loving it and have no plans to use anything else.

Like Italian
By Judy on 07/13/2019
I had been paying a professional a lot of money for the last 3 years to make my yard livable. Doing it myself every 2 weeks...every week during our heavy rains this spring... and it is working very well. Plus I can choose when I spray as the pros seemed to have trouble getting to everyone between rains. I still have fireflies and butterflies but only a few mosquitoes and they seem a little "drunk". And I am saving a ton of money!

Helpful product
By Rb on 07/14/2019
First I just want to point out that garlic is VERY toxic to cats, so, put them in when you spray and let the product dry completely before they come out! (Also, be mindful of water bowls, catnip, etc) I find this stuff helpful and much safer for me, the bees, the cats and other critters than the chemical options. I live in a swamp, so you can imagine, we have TONS of skeeters! Nothing is going to totally eliminate the mosquitoes, but this does cut way back on the harassment and bites! You will need to reapply after a heavy rain.

Mosquito Barrior
By Clint on 08/11/2019
This was the first time using this product and I'm a little disappointed. To date, I've put down three applications of this product on my front yard and I'm still getting carried away by mosquitos. We are in a very dry part of the season and I figured this product would have really knocked the mosquitos back.

Did NOT work for me

Waste of time and money
By Dedra on 06/24/2020
Wouldn't give this even one star. It really did nothing but kill mosquitos on contact. It had no residual effects. Just for the heck of it, I used it at such a ridiculous strength to see what it would do...no difference. It's all gone and I'm putting that $70 on the too-good-to-be-true list. Moving on..

Happy Summer !!
By Lawrence on 06/26/2020
Great Product, Fast Shipping. So far so good. My son and I both fogged our yards approx. 2 weeks ago and next to nothing for mosquito's. Plus my neighbors have also gained by my yard fogging. I hope this initial fogging lasts even longer. Thank You, Larry P.

Dont do it
By Kevin on 07/19/2020
I sprayed this so heavy on a 1/2 acre lot I went thru almost the whole gallon. Sprayed on trees mulch, bushes. My wife could smell it 1/2 mile away in her car as she approached our house. I applied per directions and was excited to go out the next night to a mosquito free yard. NOPE. They seemed even worse! I dont know what else to say other than do not buy this product. It 100% did NOT work for me. If I could choose 0 stars I would.

beyond worthless
By George on 08/06/2020
Smell-wise is a disaster. Efficiency-wise is a disaster. I was looking for something natural and being in pest control the last 20 years maybe I know how to deploy product and evaluate results...just in case dmypc guys decide to answer to this with "you messed up the dose or the delivery." I returned 2 unused, unopened bottles, got refunded for only one so save yourself the trouble, stay away from this product. And from the sellers, they offer a generous 60 day refund, on every other bottle :)))))

Wondering how it is most effecrive
By Gregory on 09/04/2020
Not sure it as long lasting as stated. Also, not sure if it is better sprayed with a myster or another process. I hooked it up to my garden sprayer full strength. Knocked the bugs down for a good 3 hours. After that, had to do it all over again. Hard to know how it holds for 3-4 weeks.

Amazing results
By Robert on 06/04/2021
All I can say is wow! I'm very impressed with the results thus far. I had a company spray last summer for the first time and was happy with the results but it would only last 7-10 days before the mosquitos were back. I'm getting 2-3 weeks so far of absolutely no bites with Mosquito Barrier. I'm hoping that it continues and if it does I will be a long term loyal customers.
Bla yuk stink
By Danny on 05/27/2022

Works SURPRISINGLY well
By Adino on 05/08/2023
I don't usually leave reviews but this product warrants a recommendation. As a commercial applicator I was very surprised at the results with this product. Out of all the barrier applications, spraying under every leaf and overhang or even cultural changes like woodpiles being removed etc, you still may have mosquitos that are gonna fly in. Adding this product in conjunction with well practiced pest control is like a cherry on top. This has reduced service calls for me and of that I am thankful. I can't say YET how it works on its own. I will find out this season but I am hopeful. I've tried ALOT of other repellents and not one performed as well as this product. Price point may be a bit high considering there are excellent pesticides that have much lower rates, better economy and actually will contact and residual kill insects. That said, for the do it your self guy who wants to sit on the back deck at night and not get eaten up or does not want pesticides applied, I think this is a good deal. Side note, if you don't apply right don't expect good results. Proper application and rates per label are there for a reason, follow them. Last note, I hope your a fan of Italian food.

Great product

IT REALLY WORKS!
By Mike on 07/12/2024
I have used other garlic products for mosquitos before, but none were as effective as Mosquito Barrier. It really works. I applied it with a good quality hose end sprayer, a Chapin G362. (Use one that has a metering dial so that you can adjust the concentration of the spray mix. Don’t get the kind that just has an on/off valve.) Per the instructions on the bottle, I filled the sprayer half full with Mosquito Barrier then finished filling with water. I set the metering dial to “2”, which is two tablespoons. I sprayed heavily, using about 32 ounces of Mosquito Barrier concentrate to do the front and back yard. (We have a lot of large, mature shrubs and several small trees. You may not need as much. I only applied it to the shrubs and trees, not to the lawn.) The next day, I noticed a big difference in the mosquito population. I did not stop there. I also applied Cedarcide brand Lemongrass Outdoor Bug Control, which is a blend of cedarwood oil and lemongrass oil. Cedarcide has a website where you can buy direct, but I found a better deal elsewhere. I applied it using a Ryobi One + 18. volt battery powered fogger. I premixed 2 ounces of the Cedarcide to one gallon of water, then poured it in the fogger. (Be sure not to fill the tank above the max fill line. If you do, it will not fog properly.). The fogger worked like a champ. It didn’t put out a cloud like some other foggers I have seen in use. Rather it was more like a cross between a fog and a stream. It penetrated the dense shrubs completely, and I didn’t have much if any drift. (I did it in the morning, when it was fairly still.) I did have to stop and recharge the battery. You will want to get a second battery. Between the two products, I achieved virtually complete control. I am one of those people who, if there is one mosquito anywhere around, it will find me. I have to always wear repellent. But after spraying and fogging, I was able to go out without repellent, even at the peak times for mosquito, morning and evening. I reapply every two weeks, and sooner if there are heavy rains.
