Mountain Laurel application with Southern AG Liquid Copper Fungicide

Hello - I live in Texas and have a 20 foot tall Mountain Laurel that needs treatment. How much fungicide should I use & how should I apply it? (spray, watering can, etc.)

Answer:

The Southern Ag Liquid Copper Fungicide Product Label states for use on ornamentals: Apply as a thorough coverage spray using 2 tsps. of Liquid Copper Fungicide per gallon of water. Begin application at first sign of disease and repeat at 7-14 day intervals as needed. Use shorter interval during periods of frequent rains or when severe disease conditions persist. The size of your tree will determine how much water it will take you to apply with sufficient coverage, so you would likely want to start with a couple gallons of solution and spray until the point that the plant is wet, but not to the point of runoff. You would need to make contact with as many areas where the disease is currently present or where you'd like to prevent it from spreading to.
