    Q
How much Quali-Pro MSM can I use per gallon of water for spot application?
You would use the 0.01 fl oz per gallon for spot treating, how do you measure this small amount of product?
    A

Unfortunately, there is no easy way to measure 0.01 oz of Quali-Pro MSM Turf Herbicide to make a 1 gallon solution. Per the manufacturer, their recommended rate to use for spot applications is of 0.1 oz per 4 gallons of water, which can be easily measured with their measuring device provided.

    Q
Is 90 degrees to hot to apply MSM Turf Herbicide?
The temperature in Arkansas is staying around 90. Is that too hot to be applying MSM to my yard?
    A

Per the product label for Quali-Pro MSM Turf Herbicide: Do not apply MSM Turf Herbicide to turf under stress from drought, insects, disease, cold temperatures, high temperatures of above 85°F on cool season grasses, or poor fertility as injury may result. If temperatures are below 85 at night, then you can treat in the early morning before temperatures are this high and when the grass has had time to recover from the heat during the night.

    Q
How to mix Quali-Pro MSM Turf Herbicide for Bermuda lawn?
I have a 1 gallon sprayer and a lot slightly smaller than .25 acres. Applying to Bermudagrass and Zoysiagrass (Meyers and Emerald).
    A

Quali-Pro MSM Turf Herbicide is applied at 0.25-1.0 oz per acre. If you are treating 10, 890 sq ft (1/4 acre), you will apply 7 grams for 1/4 acre (highest rate). Do not apply to any Bermuda lawn in the Spring. Allow complete green up and apply in Summer, Fall and Winter only. Applying during Spring transition period will result in you killing the grass.

  • Asked by Thomas from Melbourne

    Q
How long before Quali-Pro MSM Turf Herbicide takes effect on dollarweed in my St. Augustine lawn?
    A

We recommend allowing at least 7-14 days to see wilting/yellowing of target weeds when using Quali-Pro MSM Turf Herbicide or other post-emergent herbicides. Per the product label, control of Dollarweed may require an additional application after 4-6 weeks. You will see best results using post-emergent herbicides when the target weeds are young and actively growing. You may see some stunting or chlorosis of St. Augustine turfgrass after applying this product.

    Q
I mixed 1.0 oz of msm in a three gallon sprayer. Will this harm my St. Augustine grass?
    A

Per the product label, some chlorosis or stunting of the turfgrass may occur following application of MSM Turf Herbicide at the correct rate.  1 oz. is the rate for covering an entire acre.   If applied to an area smaller than an acre at that rate, yes, it can harm your lawn. Per the manufacturer, their recommended rate to use for spot applications is of 0.1 oz per 4 gallons of water, which can be easily measured with their measuring device provided.

  • Asked by Dominique from New Waverly, Tx
    05/25/2018
    Q
Does Quali-Pro MSM Turf Herbicide work for Virginia Button weed in a St Augustine lawn? What is the rate?
I only have several spots so is it better to spot treat or to treat the whole lawn?
    A

Quali-Pro MSM Turf Herbicide controls seedling Virginia buttonweed.  It will provide suppression only of more mature plants. Repeat application may be required in 4 to 6 weeks.   It is applied at the rate of 0.5 to 1.0 oz per acre in 100 gallons.  This breaks down to approx 0.005 to 0.01 oz per 1 gallon.  If you only have a small area you can spot treat.  If it is all over the lawn it is best to broadcast.  You would use the 0.01 oz per gallon for spot treating.

  • Asked by Natalie from New Orleans, La
    09/11/2018
    Q
An unexpected rain came while I was applying the MSM Turf Herbicide to my lawn.
Now it is pouring. Will any harm be done other than washing it off. Do I need to wait 2 weeks before re-applying?
    A

Quali-Pro MSM Turf Herbicide is best applied when rain is not expected within 24 hours after application.  Since it rained hard during and afer your application, it has more than likely washed away the herbicide you just sprayed on.  I would wait a day or 2 before reapplying just to be sure you don’t see any effects of the product in your lawn to ensure the product was completely washed away to reduce the risk of burn.

    Q
Just mixed 0.5 oz of MSM in a 2 gallon pump spray. Will this ratio be harmful for bremuda grass spot spraying?
I recently mixed 0.5 oz of MSM in a 2 gallon pump spray also adding MSO surfactant and spot sprayed weeds on a Bermuda lawn. Didn't use but about a gallon for spot spraying. Would this ratio kill the Bermuda grass as well? Property is irrigated regularly.
    A

The rate for Quali-Pro MSM Turf Herbicide is 0.25 to 1.0 fl oz per acre in 100 gallons of water per the label.  It also states Some chlorosis or stunting of the turfgrass may occur following application.  This breaks down to about 0.0025 to 0.01 per gallon of water, at the rate you used it could harm the bermuda but only time will tell.
