    Q
Can I use Nisus DSV with a fogger, like the B&G M2400?
I am sanitizing and disinfecting my attic due to fecal and urine from rats. Rather than spraying, I want to fog the solution so that the DSV will reach into deep recesses of the attic where rodents can get to but a human is not able to reach.
    A

We would not recommend using Nisus DSV in a fogger in your home or in a rented storage unit. The fogging directions on the product label refer to commercial areas such as poultry housing, dairies, and food processing plants, and food items such as utensils should be covered. For household items like utensils, it would be best to clean these in a regular manner with soap and water or bleach. For other non-food, non-porous surfaces, you would dilute DSV at 2 oz per gallon of water in a sprayer such as a hand pump or trigger sprayer, and a 10-minute contact time is listed for treating Hantavirus. Direct treatment of items will be more effective than fogging since you will have more control over where the product goes.

  • Asked by Bill from Portland, Or
    10/23/2017
    Q
Will DSV still be effective as a sanitizer if I add a botanical insecticide to it such as Ecovia EC?
    A

We would not recommend mixing any other products like EcoVia or similar items with the DSV. DSV is designed to sanitize and eliminate any and all materials on the surfaces and will either be rendered less effective if mixed with EcoVia, or it would do the same effect to the EcoVia as it would anything else on the surface you spray it on and break it down and waste the product. You should spray DSV first, then follow up with use of EcoVia in the approved labeled areas for residual insect control.

  • Asked by Frank from New York, Ny

    Q
Can you help with Roach odor removal?
I just moved into a rental that, unbeknownst to me, had a roach problem. Since moving in, I've cleaned the whole apartment, including a meticulous scrub of the kitchen cabinets. The stove and fridge were replaced about a month ago. I also baited the apartment with Advion gel and put up Gentrol point source, both as a precaution. I don't know what to do about the strong musty smell that lingers around the place though. I assume there must be a lot of roach fecal matter behind and under the cabinets that I'm not able to get to. What do you suggest I do to get rid of the smell, or at least to minimize it?
    A

In order to completely remove the odor, you need to first identify the issue. If you believe the fecal matter is coming from under cabinets, we recommend to try and get to those areas. You can use DSV  or Consan.

    Q
Does the Nisus DSV have any adverse effects on honey bees?
    A
We are unsure if the Nisus DSV would have any harmful affects on honey bees as its used as a cleaning agent and sterilizer for surfaces and not as an insecticide. While we dont think it would cause a problem for them we cannot say for certain and are not sure if the manufacturer has ever even tested that. You can feel free to contact Nisus directly to see if they know if their product would negatively affect honey bees. You can reach them at 800-264-0870.

  • Asked by Matthew

    Q
Can DSV be used on car cloth upholstery, plastic dash and interior pieces and air handling system?
I want to clean the interior of my car. Can DSV be safely used inside the car. Can it be used to clean the a/c ducts and fresh air intakes?
    A

DSV can be used on fabric and upholstery for a variety of sanitizing and cleaning needs. While we don’t think it will hurt, since its not specifically labeled for air duct treatments we cannot guarantee that would be safe to be sprayed in those areas. You are welcome to contact the manufacturer Nisus directly to see if they feel that would be a safe application for your vents provided you let it air out completely after treatment. You can reach Nisus at 800-264-0870.
