    Q
Can I mix Marathon 1% granular directly into potting soil and, if yes, what proportions should be used?
I'm trying to avoid an annual mealybug infestation -- as well as other pests -- on plants in my apartment. Every year they kill off a substantial number of them. After trying all the usual products -- none of which worked -- someone at the nursery recommended Marathon 1%. I plan to repot about 50 plants.
    A

Yes, OHP Marathon 1% Granular can be used in containerized ornamentals, fruit and nut trees, and vegetable plants in greenhouses, nurseries, and interior plantscapes. The ratio is 1 1/4 - 2 1/2 level teaspoons per container.

    Q
Can I use OHP Marathon 1% Granular on the ground to help my hibiscus bloom again?
All my planted hibiscus have not bloomed in months, all buds fall off I need to get rid of all and any bug causing this please help me get blooms again!
    A

OHP Marathon 1% Granular can be applied to the soil around the hibiscus so that it is absorbed by the roots and can kill any plant sucking pests listed on the label.  We would recommend contacting a local master gardener for advice in determining the specific cause for the plants not to bloom.

    Q
Will OHP Marathon 1% Granular treat a mealybug infestation?
I have a large atrium with a sea grape and recently I've discovered a Mealybug infestation.
    A

OHP Marathon 1% Granular can be used for mealybugs on Ornamentals, Fruit and Nut Trees, Vegetable Plants in Greenhouses, Nurseries and Interior Plantscapes.  It is best applied before there is an infestation since it takes time to be absorbed into the plant/tree so is better as a prevention.  For active infestations on non edibles you can use something like Talstar P, if edible Fertilome Triple Action is a great choice.

    Q
Can I use Marathon 1% granular on ground to control severe aphid infestation in crape myrtles.
Non container 3 year old crepe myrtle planting in back yard. Severe aphid infestation. 7 day cycle of Neem Oil with regular spot treatments of Insecticidal Soap doesn't make a dent.
    A

OHP Marathon 1% Granular can be used around trees for aphids, you just need to be sure to water in well so it gets down the roots and apply before they are an issue since it takes time to translocate throughout the tree.  Treating as you have with Neem Oil and the soap when they are actively infesting is recommended if you can make contact.  You may try a product like Bifen IT on the foliage which can leave a residual to continue to kill.
