    Q
In outdoor applications, how resistant is Permethrin SFR 36.8% to rain?
I am treating a dog flea infestation both inside and outside my home, but I live in one of the rainiest regions in America; it's currently rainy season and we sometimes get rain five days a week. Is there any special application procedure I should follow (I.E. - only apply if it's not going to rain for a certain number of days after treatment, different concentration, etc)? I am treating roughly 4,000 square/feet of grassy yard. Can I use a garden hose sprayer, or do I have to use a hand pump? Is there an ideal concentration? And what sort of protection length should I expect?
    A

Permethrin SFR 36.8% can be used inside and outside for flea control. If treating outside, you will want to apply on a  dry day and have 24 hours prior to a rainfall. We suggest treating with an insect growth regulator (IGR).  Treatments should be performed once every two weeks. Please take a few moments to review our treatment article on How to Get Rid of Fleas for a successful eradication program.

  • Asked by Darrin from Scottsdale, Az

    Q
Can adding Permethrin SFR to Demand CS add a "kick" against AZ scorpions?
I was told by an exterminator that this combo is very effective against bark scorpions applied monthly. Do you have any thoughts on the matter? If so, how much SFR would you recommend be included per gal?
    A

Permethrin SFR 36.8%  and Demand CS should not be mixed together. We recommend applying Demand CS alone for treating scorpions at a rate of 24 ml per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft. For more information on treating scorpions, please take a few moments to review our article for a successful eradication program.

    Q
Does Permethrin SFR 36.8% expire or lose effectiveness?
I have used over half of this gallon and 1/2 Has done no good to control ants and chiggers..
    A

The shelf life for Permethrin SFR 36.8% is 3-5 years from the date of purchase if stored at room temperature.  You shoudl only mix up what you are going to use the day you plan to make an application.  Any mixed solution left in a sprayer will become ineffective.  Always follow the product label for mixing and application rates for the pest(s) you are treating.  Not following these guidelines can adversely affect the product and your results.

  • Asked by Robert from Kingfisher, Ok

    Q
Can you mix Permethrin SFR 36.8% and Tempo SC Ultra? Can you mix Permethrin SFR 36.8% with Malathion?
Heavy flea infestation in aging mobile home on a foreclosure purchase, also spiders and ants in mass quantity.
    A

It is not necessary or  recommended to mix Permethrin SFR 36.8% to Tempo SC Ultra or Malathion. Malathion is not labeled for flea treatments so this would not be suggested for your treatment. We would suggest mixing Permethrin SFR 36.8% with an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) and a synergist (for a quick knockdown) such as Tekko Pro and Exciter for outdoor applications. We do carry an Indoor Flea Kit that  will work great for interior areas. Please take a few moments to review our article/videos on How to Get Rid of Fleas for a successful eradication program.

    Q
Will Permethrin SFR 36.8% kill sod webworms in a St Augustine lawn?
    A

Permethrin SFR 36.8% can be applied to the lawn for treating for sod webworms. You will mix 0.4 – 0.8 fl. oz. of Permethrin SFR in 4 to 25 gallons of water per 1000 square feet. Use the higher rate for fast knockdown and increased residual control. Dense or excessive (greater than 3 inches) lawn height and arid conditions may require higher volume application rates. Repeat application if necessary. Application in combination with compatible surfactants or wetting agents may enhance penetration.

  • Asked by Pancho from Yuma, Arizona

    Q
What is the difference between Permethrin SFR 36.8% and Onslaught FastCap Spider and Scorpion Insecticide?
I have been using onslaught for interior and exterior of my house for black widows and scorpions for the past 2yrs and I was told that need to change insecticide every so often so the pest won't get immune to the insecticide.
    A

Onslaught FastCap is a unique insecticide that has an encapsulated pyrethroid plus prallethrin for quick knockdown. Permethrin SFR contains permethrin - a different pyrethroid - and it is not encapsulated. The encapsulation really helps products to last longer in the heat and sunlight in desert environments better than the Permethrin SFR would. Our other most popular insecticides to rotate with Onslaught would be Cyzmic CS or CyKick CS. You could always add 0.25 - 0.5 oz of ExciteR insecticide to either Cyzmic or CyKick for that extra quick knockdown, if desired.
