    Q
Once Phantom dries can you wash the area?

If you were to wash an area where Phantom Termiticide Insecticide was applied, you likely will need to reapply.  If the area needs to be washed, do that first and then apply the Phantom.

Does Phantom Termiticide/Insecticide harm plants or trees?
Tell me if this insecticide harm plants . I tried looking for the info on the label but no mention of that
    A
When used as directed on the Phantom product label it should not harm plants.  That being said, exterior applications are limited to spot and crack and crevice treatments around door frames, window frames, eaves, attic vents, and holes where utilities enter into the structure not out in the yard.

  • Asked by Chuck from Dover, Nh
    03/22/2018
    Q
I am looking at Phantom as an ant spray. Is this a good product for both indoors and outdoors, and safe around pets?
    A

Phantom can be used indoors for ants but is limited to cracks and crevices that could be used for entry outdoors such as window frames, and where pipes/wires enter the home. It is not for spraying the perimeter of the homes foundation. Temprid FX would be a more appropriate product for use indoors and out for ants and many other insects around the home and yard. Temprid is pet safe once dry as long as label instructions are followed.

  • Asked by Jacob from Amarillo
    12/05/2016
    Q
Why is Phantom Termiticide/Insecticide not recommended to be used as the sole product to treat for bed bugs?
    A

We always recommend using more than one product to combat a bed bug infestation. While Phantom Termiticide/Insecticide is a great product to use in this process, it is just one in a combination that we recommend. Phantom is really only labeled to be sprayed around cracks and crevices and baseboard areas, so you would not be able to apply it in all of the areas that would need to be treated for bed bugs. That is why we recommend other products as well, such as those that our found in our Bed Bug Control Kits.  Using a combination of products will allow you to treat areas like the tufts and seams of your mattresses and box springs, inside dresser drawers, night stands, underneath furniture cushions, and inside electrical outlets and light switch plates. All of these areas are critical in the elimination of a bed bugs infestation. For more information on recommended products and where to use them, please take a look at our Bed Bug Control Guide

    Q
Can Phantom be sprayed inside wall electrical sockets?
    A

It is not recommended by the manufacturer of Phantom to apply the product where electrical shock hazards exist. We would recommend applying Cimexa Dust to voids and electrical outlets and lightswitch plates for various insects.

    Q
Can Phantom be sprayed inside wall light sockets?
If so, how long do you have to wait before plugging in electrical devices again?
    A

It is not recommended to apply Phantom where electrical shock hazards exist. We would recommend applying Alpine Dust to voids and electrical outlets and lightswitch plates for various insects. The dust should be applied lightly using a dust applicator. With the dust application, you do not have a waiting period to plug in electrical devices.

  • Asked by Ty from Orlando, Fl
    03/04/2017
    Q
What is the correct dilution rate when using Phantom Termiticide/Insecticide?
I accidentally added 3oz of Phantom to only a 1/2 gallon of water (misread markers on spray container)..Will there be adverse effects?
    A

It depends on what you are using Phantom Termiticide/Insecticide to treat for which application rate you would be using. When treating for termites you would use 1.5 oz per gallon fo water. When treating for bedbugs and other pests you would want to use the 3 oz per gallon of water. If you only used a half gallon of water you would want to use soap and water and clean up as much as possible. There may be some staining with that usage rate as well.

It is not recommended that you mix two insecticides such as Temprid SC and Phantom together as this can cause issues with resistance.  You can alternate between the two if you wish.

Phantom Termiticide/Insecticide should be applied to cracks and crevices. When completely dry, you can dust the voids of the structure (using a dust applicator) to apply DE. Please take a few moments to review our Dusting Article for tips on locations and application for the DE.

  • Asked by Tim from Dayton, Oh
    10/04/2017
    Q
How many times can you use Phantom before bed bugs become immune?
I have sprayed Phantom about 10 times in my apartment. It is the only thing that we have had any luck with. My question is how many times can I use Phantom before the bed bugs start building up immunity to it?
    A

As of now there have been no known reports of resistance build up to Phantom Termiticide/Insecticide.  We will say that sprays alone are not enough to eliminate bed bugs as you cannot use in all the areas you need to treat for them.  We would recommend one of our Bed Bug Control kits here.  Which kit you choose depends on the number of rooms you need to treat.   We also have a great guide here that explain the treatment that should be done.

    Q
Is it recommended to use an IGR with Phantom for german cockroach control?
    A

It is highly recommended to add an Insect Growth Regulator to your treatment plan while treating for roaches. You may mix an IGR in with the Phantom Termiticide Insecticide to spray them together as long as you are following the instructions on the product labels. Please take a moment to review our How to Get Rid of Roaches Guide for more information and helpful tips on eradicating this pest.

  • Asked by D from California
    08/14/2021
    Q
What is the mix rate per gallon of water for Phantom Termiticide Insecticide to treat for bed bugs? Is water the only thing I should mix Phantom with or is another product suggested to be used?
    A

Phantom Termiticide Insecticide is labeled for bed bugs at the mix rate of 3 fl oz per gallon of water. Applications are limited to spot or crack and crevice sprays directly to breeding areas, nesting sites, hiding places , etc where bed bugs are seen. While Phantom Insecticide is labeld for bed bugs, this product nor any product will eradicate and active infestation alone.

Bed Bugs require a combination of professtional grade products to effectly treat the cracks, crevices and harbor areas where bed bugs hide along with diligent and thorough repeat applications every 7-10 days until you can 30 days without seeing any signs of bed bugs or getting bit. The 2 most common mistakes we find with customers when doing their own bed bug treatments are not using the combination of professional grade products we recommend and consistency and diligence with their treatments.

Please view our Bed Bug Kits and Bed Bug Treatment Guide for more important information and step by step instructions on how to fully do your own bed bug treatment. These kits provide you with enough product for the initial treatment and 1-2 follow up treatments. Choose the kit based on how many bedrooms you have as you will need to treat ALL bedrooms/living areas for bed bugs.
