    Q
How much square footage does the Pro-Control Plus Total Release - 6 oz.?
We are moving into a home that was flea infested. we want to make sure that there are no more fleas and any other bugs that may be in there. The home is about 5,000 square feet. How many cans do I need to use to make sure I am covering square footage?
    A

The Pro-Control Plus Total Release - 6 oz. wil treat approx. 600 sq feet. We normally do not recommend bombing to treat for fleas. The reason being that when you bomb you are only killing the insects that come in contact with the active ingredient. You want to use products that will break down the life cycle of the fleas. We recommend using the Indoor Flea Kit. The Indoor Flea Kit with Alpine Aerosol and CimeXa dust treats over 2000 sq. ft. of space and is an excellent combination for long-lasting flea control. The kit contains two cans of Alpine Aerosol which is one of the safest professional grade flea sprays for use indoors and was recently classified as a reduced risk product by the EPA. It provides excellent control of fleas and contains an IGR as well, which prevents adult fleas from being able to lay eggs, eventually halting the flea reproductive cycle.  You'll also get two bottles of CimeXa Dust which is a safe, odorless, non-staining dust that is perfect for spreading on carpets, floor coverings, in cabinets, under furniture cushions, and other areas where fleas tend to harbor.  As fleas come into contact with CimeXa, the dust literally dries the fleas out causing eventual death.  These two products together create a powerful double punch providing excellent, safe and lasting indoor flea control.

    Q
Do you have outdoor foggers for mosquitos?
    A

We do carry Fogging Equipment which require specific fogging solution concentrates, but these products typically would not be recommended for outdoor use to control mosquitos.  We recommend one of our Mosquito Control Kits which contain all of the products you’ll need to quickly control a mosquito infestation on your property.  You can also read our helpful guide on How to Get Rid of Mosquitos for more treatment recommendations.

    Q
Is Pro-Control Plus Total Release effective against moths?
moths from wool clothes and rugs
    A

A fogger like Pro-Control Plus will kill only the adult moths that are exposed at the time of treatment. It will not affect the immature larvae which are causing the damage to infested items like clothing or rugs. Pro-Control Plus does have residual to continue working after it’s dry, however this product is not for use in living areas for this reason: you can use it only in areas like an attic or crawl space. We have tips on how to get rid of clothes moths here. In general, you should inspect the area, vacuum and clean any infested items, then use traps for the adults and apply residual spray to cracks and crevices.

    Q
If I place a Pro-Control Plus Total Release inside a chimney, will it reach 2 stories?
If a wasp nest is near top of chimney, will this product reach that high?
    A

Pro-Control Plus Total Release cannot be used in a chimney.  Unfortunately we do not know of a product which is approved for this use.  This product leaves a residual and would not be safe to use where the residual could be burned and cause harmful fumes in your home.  Generally having a fire in the fireplace would drive out any insects or you may wish to contact a professional to come out and remove the nest.

    Q
Will Pro-Control Plus Total Release kill fleas?
I want all the fleas dead !!!!!!!I have 3 dogs & 2 cats and a ton of Fleas ! Need the best most powerful bombs ?
    A

Fogging is not usually the best option for flea control. Fogs work best for flying insects and exposed insects like roaches. For flea control, you will want to use a hand pump sprayer for indoor and outdoor applications. We recommend our Indoor/Outdoor Flea Kit if you would like to use the same product for both areas.   After 14 days you should repeat the application to get any late-developing fleas. Be sure all of your pets are out of the area while you do the application and they can safely return after the areas have dried. We also have a great guide here that explains the treatment needed.

    Q
Will the Pro-Control Plus Total Release - 6 oz. work well in my garage where there is a wasp nest?
There is a vent above my garage door, I see numerous wasps going in and out of the garage. I haven't been in there since the spring and you will not get me to go inside.
    A

Pro Control Plus Total Release fogger will kill just about any insect that is out and exposed at the time of treatment. You should note that the fogger will not penetrate cracks, crevices or other areas that are hidden. Foggers go straight up into the air, float around for a short period of time and then settle onto surfaces. This means that any spiders that are hidden in cracks, crevices, storage boxes, etc will not be exposed to the fogger. You can use the fogger to get rid of any exposed insects and then follow up with a crack and crevice treatment such as Cy-Kick Aerosol

  • Asked by Tami from San Antonio, Tx
    05/16/2017
    Q
What is the best treatment for moth control in a 10 x 12 storage closet?
I am considering the the Pro-Control Plus Total Release - 6 oz.
    A

Pro-Control Plus Total Release - 6 oz would not be recommended only because the label on mentions small moths and does not name the species of moth. While the Pro Control Plus Total Release 6oz fogger will leave an 8 week residual, it would not be the best treatment for long term control. Most foggers will only affect the moths that are out during the time the fog is being dispursed.

Please take a moment to reveiew our Clothes Moth Control Article for additional information on treatments. There are different varieties of Cloths Moths. If you are unsure of what type of moth you have, we recommened contacing your local extension office for a proper I.D.

    Q
Will Pro-Control Plus Total Release kill carpet beetles and larvae?
Can I use Pro Control Plus Total Release in the attic and will it destroy/kill both the larvae and carpet beetles?
    A

We would not recommend using Pro-Control Plus Total Release for carpet beetles/larvae as it will only kill larvae/adult carpet beetles that are out in the open at the time you set it off.  It will not get into the cracks and crevices where the larvae prefer to feed/harbor unless you use something that is labeled to spray those areas directly

  • Asked by Bruce from Northern Virginia

    Q
Is there an optimum temperature range for using Pro-Control Plus Total Release?
I want to use this product in a crawl space. Its not climate controlled and the temperature this year does drop below freezing. Is there a minimum temperature for this product?
    A

The manufacturer does not offer a specific temperature range for using Pro-Control Plus Total Release foggers except that the cans should not be exposed to temperatures over 130 degrees. In general, we would recommend for ambient temperatures to be at least 50 degrees in the area where a fogger is used, and the can should be at or close to room temperature to function properly. You should not use foggers or most insecticides in an area that is near or below freezing. You will not have insect activity if temperatures are this cold. Keep in mind that you should only use a total release fogger in an area where you can turn off any circulating air and/or pilot lights and have access to properly set and then remove the fogger, per the product label instructions.
