Horribly disappointed with these traps

These are supposed to be "quick, humane kill" mouse traps. They are far from that. Every time they trip, the mouse thrashes around in agony and I have had to dispatch 9 out of 10 myself because they were horribly injured but not killed by these traps. I bought them because they are Victor and I have used their electronic traps in the past to good effect. I wanted something that would quickly and humanely kill mice. These are not at all what I was hoping for. I'm going back to the electronic traps, they kill instantly.

THESE DON'T WORK

The problem is that the mouse has to poke his head in a little hole to get the bait to get the trap to spring. Just running over them does not cause these traps to snap. I had mice just running over top of them. Traditional traps can be sprung by the mouse running over it or bumping it. Not these.

Horribly disappointed with these traps

I bought these because they were supposed to kill quickly and humanely. Unfortunately, they don't. In 9 out of 10 kills of mice the first day, the mice were alive and caught in the trap to die in pain. When you are able to release the mouse alive from the trap, it can in no way be described as "quick kill". Having purchased Victor's electronic mouse traps in the past, I expected better.

These traps work exceptionally well. They effectively eliminate bait stealing by small mice or those with tendencies to nibble. The trap is actuated differently than other traps on the market. I have caught many mice with this trap and all were cleanly killed. I have never found the trap sprung without catching a mouse. I have a hard time understanding the complaints posted here of mice being partially caught and suffering since the bait door must be lifted by the mouse in order to activate the striking mechanism. A mouse that lifts the door while rooting for the bait is directly beneath the striker.
