Product Overview

The Compost Wizard Eco Square Composter is a standing compost bin with easy tool-free assembly. It has a weatherproof and rugged design, which enables the unit to last longer over time. This compost bin is safe to place in any garden or any out-of-the-way location and can be left from 1 to 12 months depending on the materials added and other environmental factors. The bin can take fruit waste, ashes from wood, corn stalks, sawdust, straw wood chips, egg shells, food waste, livestock manures and more. This composter features two side hatches and latching lid for easier access and user convenience. The unit can be filled between 1/2-3/4 full and not filled up completely to avoid spilling and other inconvenience. It is available in black for good heat absorption, 100-gallon capacity and comes with a 1-year limited warranty on parts and services.

Details

Instructions:

  • Locate an area that receives plenty of sun for most of the day. If you live in a hotter geographical climate, partial shade is preferred. Optimal composting temperatures are between 120 degrees - 150 degrees Fahrenheit (49 degrees - 65 degrees celsius) inside the drum.
  • Place the composter’s base on the ground and set the drum on top so the wheels are aligned with the drum’s track.
  • Unscrew the lid and put in organic material - 2 parts Brown to 1 part Green
  • Composting Ingredients Chart below for examples). Fill between 1/2 - 3/4 full (2/3 full recommended). DO NOT fill completely. DO NOT add more material; Wait until current batch is complete, remove compost, and start a new batch.
  • Rotate at least once a week. If your batch is too dry, add more Green ingredients or water. If your batch is too wet, add more Brown ingredients.
  • Compost will be ready when it is dark and crumbly. If you squeeze a handful, it should produce small amounts of liquid (compost tea).
  • Use compost as mulch, potting soil, or spread like fertilizer.

Composting Ingredients Chart:

Brown: Ashes(wood), cardboard, corn stalks, fruit waste, leaves, newspaper, peanut shells, pine needles, sawdust, straw wood chips.
Green: Egg shells, clover, coffee grounds, food waste, garden waste, grass clippings, hay, manures (livestock), tea bags, vegetables, weeds (unseeded).
Never Add: Plastic, glass, toxins, metal, meat, diapers, oil, pet waste, cleaners, solvents, treated wood.
