DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

SPRAYING INSTRUCTIONS:

Spray Volumes: Apply in 10 to 240 gallons of water per acre (0.2 to 5.5 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft.)

Spot Spray with Hand Sprayers: Calibration and proper uniformed application are essential when using this product. Over application or rates above those specified including excessive overlaps of this product can cause injury. Calibrate sprayer to deliver 1 gallon of spray solution per 1,000 sq. ft. of treated area.

  • Fescue Species - Mix 0.73 to 1.28 fl. oz. per gallon of water and treat 1,000 sq. ft. of turfgrass.
  • Kentucky Bluegrass and Perennial Ryegrass - Mix 0.73 to 1.28 fl. oz. per gallon of water and treat 1,000 sq. ft. of turfgrass.

Lower Volume Equipment: Use as little as 10 gallons of water per acre. Use only application equipment that is capable of spreading a uniform droplet, wetting each seed surface.

KEY WEEDS CONTROLLED:

Alder, Aster, Bedstraw, Beggartick, Beggarweed, Bindweed, Black medic, Box elder, Carpetweed, Chickweed, Clover, Daisy fleabane, Dandelion, Deadnettle, Dock, Ground ivy, Hawkweed, Healall, Knotweed, Kochia, Lambsquarters, Lespedeza, Mallow, Marshelder, Morningglory, Oxalis, Pigweed, Plantain, Poison ivy, Poison oak, Pokeweed, Purslane, Ragweed, Shepherd’s-purse, Spurge, Thistle, Tumbleweed, Vetch, Virginia buttonweed, Virginia creeper, White mustard, Wild geranium, Wild violet, Wood sorrel, Yarrow.

ORNAMENTAL LAWNS AND TURF AND SOD FARMS:

Apply this product in 10 to 240 gallons of water per acre (0.2 to 5.5 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft.) to control weeds growing in Kentucky Bluegrass, Perennial Ryegrass, and fescue species (excluding golf course greens and tees).

Generally, the lower application rates will provide satisfactory control of sensitive weeds. the higher application rates will be required for dense infestations of perennial weeds, for adverse/extreme environmental conditions, or for weeds beyond the appropriate growth stages. For all application:

  • do not overlap spray patterns
  • use reduced rates if turfgrass is stresses from heat, drought, etc.

Note: During conditions which promote turf stress use lower rates. Turfgrass yellowing and bronzing may occur following application and will disappear after 7 to 14 days after application. Treated turfgrass will recover with new growth. Discolored leaf tissue will be removed with mowing. To reduce potential discoloration, avoid applications to turfgrass that is weakened by weather, mechanical, chemical, diseases or other related stress.

APPLICATION TIMING:

For best results, apply this herbicide in the late winter/early spring or early fall to young weeds that are actively growing. Follow-up applications may be required for dense infestations of perennial and biennial weeds.

Newly Seeded Areas: The application of this herbicide to grass seedlings is not recommended until after the second mowing. Do not apply to newly seeded areas until grass is well established unless discoloration or damage can be tolerated.

Newly Sodded, Sprigged or Plugged Areas: Do not apply to newly sodded, sprigged, or plugged grasses for at least 4 weeks after the sodding, sprigging, or plugging operations.

Seeding: Grass and broadleaf weeds germinate throughout the year. This herbicide will provide up to 4 weeks of residual weed control after application. This, reseed no sooner than 4 weeks after application of this product. When slit seeding, ensure good seed/soil contact and reseeding interval can be reduced to 21 days.

Mowing: For best results, turf should not be mowed for 1 day before or after application to maximize leaf surface and herbicide uptake and translocation.

    Wow.

    By Nate on 10/14/2019

I have used 38 oz of this product so far and all I can say is wow. I thought, “oh ok, just another blend of herbicides that are already on the market, nothing new” but was told I would get ground ivy control in one app. Give it two weeks and BAM! Any broadleaf that existed in my customer's lawns is gone. It is definitely a little tough on desirable turf but if you have decent fertility it grows right out of that. If I could give it a sixth star I would.

    Good product, poor service

    By Lawn on 09/10/2019

Product is excellent. Five stars. Lives up to expectations. However had paid extra have shipped 2 day. Ordered 2 bottles one came 2 days later then few days later email comes saying other bottle is back ordered. Finally 2 weeks later 2nd bottle shows up. Only buy from this company in a pinch. I pay 30-50% less from my local source. Like all things on internet they are expensive and poor in service.

    Awesome product and customer service

    By Dwight on 10/23/2020

we have been struggling with trying to control our ground ivy (creeping charlie) I applied the Sure Power Selective Herbicide just like you told me and my ground ivy started changing colors in just a couple of days. It is covered with 8" of snow right now so we will see what it looks like in the spring. But I am sure excited to see because it really looks like it is going to solve our problem.

    KILL UM INVADERS

    By Koolin on 09/15/2023

This stuff is absolutely amazing!! The great thing is it comes in a 2 1/2 gallon jug. I only need 2 1/2 ounces for my lawn so I have enough to last me until the year 3032!! Hopefully with good exercise, and I eat right I live to be that old!! But again quite the amazing product. I had all kinds of garbage in my lawn, and that stuff killed them all.

    Great broadleaf weed killer

    By Rich on 09/22/2023

Just spray on the clovers and creeping Charlie and violets. They start withering by next day. I have tried different products but this one works great on tall fescue.

Q
Is Sure Power Selective Herbicide labeled to kill bermudagrass?
A

Sure Power Selective Herbicide is labeled for broadleaf weeds and only lists cool season turfgrasses such as fescue species, Kentucky bluegrass, and perennial ryegrass as tolerant. Since the product label does not  mention bermudagrass as a tolerant turfgrass and contains active ingredients that specifically target broadleaf weeds and not grassy weeds, we cannot say if this would be effective in killing bermudagrass.
