Rezilon 200SC Pre Emergent Herbicide is a pre-emergent herbicide designed to protect desirable grasses while having superior control over unwanted grasses and broadleaf weeds. Can be applied in both late summer and late winter. Ideal for use in warm-season bermudagrass and hayfields (bahiagrass pastures). This herbicide is applied in late winter at 3-5 fluid ounces per acre to control summer annual weeds, while applied at 3-5 fluid ounces following a late summer cutting for winter annual weed control. Controls a wide variety of annual grasses and broadleaf weeds including ryegrass, goosegrass, sandbur, crabgrass, annual foxtails, and other listed weeds found on the label. Sandbur problem
By Nd on 09/08/2025
I have a sandbur problem and every year I would try to take out as many sand bur weeds as I could before the seeds would spread, but it was pointless. Rezilon eliminated 97% of the sand bur problem I had in the first initial spray.

Rezilon Pre Emergent Herbicide is compatible with listed non-selective herbicides. For other products, we do recommend performing a jar test and test a small area as indicated on the label when tank mixing to determine compatibility.

The label indicates not to plant Cool Season grasses for at least 18 months but does not mention warm season grasses.
The recommended seeding interval after applying Rezilon Herbicide is 18 months, regardless of turfgrass species. Since this is a pre-emergent herbicide, there will be residual product in the ground. Planting sooner than 18 months before application could inhibit seed germination.

According the the manufacturer's product label, there are no grazing restrictions following the application of Relizon Pre Emergent Herbicide. Please refer to the linked product label above for more information on applying this product to grazing grasses and for complete application instructions, and use as directed. We do recommend keeping animals out of the area during treatment until dry and typically for at least 24 hours for added safety.

The general rule for spring is to apply your pre-emergent herbicide such as Rezilon Pre Emergent Herbicide is after the ground has thawed from the winter but before the temperature of your soil reaches 55 degrees, as that is when crabgrass begins to germinate. Other weeds will germinate when the soil temperature is between 55 and 65 degrees. You can use a soil thermometer to determine the temperature of your area. You will want to measure the temperature of the soil a few inches below ground.
The ideal time to apply a fall pre-emergent herbicide is between August and November when the soil temperature is below 70 degrees and dropping.
You may contact your local cooperative extension office to determine the correct timing of the application as this will vary greatly from region to region or search online for best time to apply in (your area). A lot of universities have great articles for this.
