Product Overview

Travella 20 SG Insecticide is a professional-grade soluble granule insecticide made with 20% dinotefuran for fast-moving systemic control of key ornamental, turfgrass, greenhouse, nursery, landscape, and forestry pests. Its highly systemic activity allows the active ingredient to move through treated plants, helping protect new and existing growth from difficult pests such as whiteflies, aphids, mealybugs, lace bugs, leafminers, scales, adelgids, Japanese beetles, root weevils, and certain borers.

Travella 20 SG offers flexible use across multiple application methods, including foliar sprays, broadcast sprays, soil drenches, soil injections, chemigation, and basal trunk sprays where labeled. When applied to foliage, it provides translaminar and locally systemic control of foliar-feeding pests. When applied to soil or bark, it is absorbed and transported through the plant’s vascular system for broader systemic insect control.

This insecticide is especially useful for commercial ornamental production, greenhouse and nursery programs, interior plantscapes, outdoor landscapes, golf courses, lawns, sod farms, tree plantations, and reforestation sites. It is labeled for both foliar and systemic control, making it a strong option for managing hard-to-control insects on ornamental trees, shrubs, bedding plants, foliage plants, ground covers, evergreens, non-bearing fruit and nut trees, and turfgrass.

Full Application Instructions

General Use Directions:
Apply Travella 20 SG Insecticide using sufficient water volume to provide thorough and uniform coverage. For ornamental plants, forestry, and vegetable transplants, apply in enough water to ensure good coverage of the target plant or treatment area. For turfgrass, apply through conventional spray equipment in a minimum of 1 gallon of finished spray per 1,000 sq ft. Use accurately calibrated equipment and apply only when uniform coverage can be achieved.

Mixing Instructions:
Add half of the required amount of water to the mix tank. With agitation running, add the desired amount of Travella 20 SG to the tank. Continue agitation while adding the remaining water. Begin application only after the product has completely dispersed into the mix water. Maintain agitation until the entire mixture has been applied. For tank mixtures, add products in the order directed by the label and follow the most restrictive directions and precautions of all products in the tank mix.

Turfgrass Applications:
For listed turfgrass pests, apply 2.7 lbs per acre, equivalent to 1 oz per 1,000 sq ft. Apply in sufficient water to ensure thorough coverage of the target area, using a minimum of 50 gallons of finished spray per acre or at least 1 gallon of finished spray per 1,000 sq ft. For soil-inhabiting turf pests such as white grubs, billbugs, and annual bluegrass weevils, time applications prior to or during egg hatch. For mole crickets, apply prior to or during peak egg hatch. Irrigate turf if rainfall does not occur within 24 hours after application to move the active ingredient through the thatch layer. Do not apply more than 2.7 lbs per acre of turf per calendar year.

Ornamental Applications:
Travella 20 SG may be applied to ornamental plants as a foliar spray, broadcast spray, soil drench, soil injection, bark spray, or through labeled chemigation systems. For foliar ornamental applications, use 4-8 oz per 100 gallons of water. When applied to foliage, the product provides translaminar and locally systemic control of foliar pests. When applied to soil, it is taken up by the root system and moved upward through the plant. Movement is generally faster in herbaceous plants than in woody shrubs or trees. Do not apply more than 2.7 lbs of product per acre per calendar year for all ornamental application types.

Vegetable Transplants in Enclosed Structures:
Travella 20 SG may be applied as a foliar spray or broadcast spray for listed insect control in vegetable transplants grown in enclosed structures. Begin applications when first pest activity is observed or when insects reach threshold levels according to University or Extension recommendations. Apply only to transplants as directed by the label and before transplants are sold.

Resistance Management:
Travella 20 SG contains a Group 4A insecticide. To help delay resistance, do not apply Travella 20 SG or other Group 4A insecticides to consecutive generations of the same insect pest species. Do not drench soil media with Travella 20 SG or other Group 4A insecticides more than one time per crop cycle or every 3 months, whichever is shorter. Do not make more than two foliar or broadcast sprays of Group 4A insecticides to a single crop during a 2-month period. Use as part of a comprehensive IPM program and monitor treated insect populations for loss of efficacy.

Use Restrictions:
Do not apply Travella 20 SG while bees are foraging. Do not apply to flowering plants for non-agricultural uses. Do not apply to linden, basswood, or other Tilia species by any application method. Do not apply to saturated, waterlogged, or frozen areas that will not allow penetration into the plant root zone. Do not allow children or pets on treated areas until spray has dried. With the exception of non-livestock animals, do not graze treated areas or use clippings from treated areas for feed or forage. Do not apply more than the maximum annual rate listed for the use site.
