Each can of Pur Black Foam (BF01) delivers 2,800 cu. in. of foam that can produce a 1/2" diameter bead of sealant over 1,200 linear feet. The foam must be applied with a foam applicator gun. Each roll of Stuffit Copper Mesh is 6 inches wide, double folded and comes in either 20 ft. or 100 ft. long rolls.
Per the manufacturer, yes, Pur Black Foam (BF01) can be applied around radiator pipes. When applying this product you want to be sure the pipes are at room temperature and that you allow it to sit for a least 30 minutes after the application. While this product is not necessarily heat resistant, you do not have to be concerned about the product catching fire. Temperatures would have to reach 300 degrees in order for this product to start to decompose or become brittle.
If Pur Black Foam comes in contact with your skin, wipe with a dry cloth and wash immediately with soap and water.
Pur Black Foam (BF01) can be removed from the gun and stored for up to 2 years from the first application if properly stored
Unfortunately, we are not familiar with Great Stuff Pro 14 Dispensing Gun and would not able to confirm the Pur Black Foam would be compatable. We recommend contacting Pur Black Foam manufacturer Todol Products directly at 508-651-3818
Remove uncured Pur Black Foam with mineral spirits, paint thinner, acetone or nail polish remover, and soap and water. Cured foam can be removed by abrasion, wear, and scrubbing with soap and water.
Yes, Pur Black Foam expands and bonds in place.
Pur Black Foam does not have any type of flavoring added to it. It is technically possible for mice to chew their way through the foam, but it is not likely. We have never had a report from a customer that a mouse had managed to chew through the foam. That being said, we do recommend putting the Stuf-Fit Copper Mesh into the hole first and then sealing with the Pur Black Foam.
According to the manufacturer, there is no solvent that would dissolve the Pur Black Foam without potentially damaging the paint or finish on a truck, so you should use a regular scrub brush and soapy water that you would use to clean the vehicle, and it should come off over time with scrubbing. The product will also degrade in sunlight, so it will be easier to clean over time.
The best solution would be an additional baseboard or moving the boards lower so that you have a solid barrier between the baseboards and the flooring. Spaces larger then about 2" are difficult to treat with other exclusion products since this is considered a fairly large space to fill. You could use a foam such as the Pur Black Foam to fill a long area like this, but keep in mind that you will need a foam gun to apply this product, and you may need to layer multiple beads to fill that entire space. Another option is Xcluder fabric, which is a very thick mixed material fabric that you can stuff into the space. Be sure you wear thick gloves when handling this product, such as those in this kit.
