    Does Ranger Pro Herbicide kill kudzu?

    How long before a rain is Ranger Pro safe to apply?
    A

    The product label for Ranger Pro Herbicide does not specify a certain amount of time but it does say that heavy rain soon after application may require a repeat application. You just want to make sure you have at least 6 hours of dry weather after you apply Ranger Pro to ensure its absorbed and not washed away, but up to 24 hours with dry weather is ideal for maximum uptake.

    Will Ranger Pro control bamboo?
    A

    No, unfortunately Ranger Pro will not control bamboo. The manufacturer informed us that , due to the root structure of the bamboo, the Ranger Pro would not be able to contact the roots to eliminate the plant.

    Will Ranger Pro kill cactus? If not, what will?

    Ranger Pro Herbicide is not labeled for cactus. We have only recently branched into herbicides and do not have an answer for you as to what will kill cactus. We recommend calling your local cooperative extension office for advice. The folks at the extension are familiar with the plants in your area and can usually provide the most accurate information.

    Yes. Ranger Pro is non selective post emergent herbicide and it will kill just about any type of vegetation that it is sprayed on.

    Will Ranger Pro kill buckthorn if applied to a cut stump? Must it be used undiluted?

    We are not exactly sure of the dilution rate or how well Ranger Pro will work for the use you are describing.  We would ask that you call the manufacturer since they are the experts on their own product and would know better than we would.  We don't like to guess at an answer if we are not sure.  The manufacturer is Monsanto Company and you can reach them at (314) 694-1000.

    Is Ranger Pro a granular product? Is there one available like Roundup Pro?

    Ranger Pro is a liquid product but it does contain the same active ingredient as RoundUp Pro. We do not have a generic Round Up that is in the water soluble granule formulation.

    I bought Roundup "super concentrate" some time last year
    It plugs up my sprayers with slimy film substance floating around in mixture. is this common or did I get a bad batch of Roundup? Mixed 2 1/2 fl.oz per gallon of tap water. I have been using Roundup for several years and never had this experience until I bought my last gallon "purchased 2010"

    We are not the manufacturer of Round Up, we are just a retailer.  Although we do not sell RoundUP, we do sell professional versions that have the same active ingredient as RoundUP for much cheaper though.  We have not heard of any of our customers every tell us about it leaving a slimy film so we are not sure what the issue could be.  You may want to look at Ranger Pro, one of the professional weed killers that we sell.

    My barrel for sprayer is plastic but the label cautions against metal sprayers, what about metal parts ?
    A
    The Ranger Pro product label actually states "spray solutions of this product should be mixed, stored and applied using only stainless steel, aluminum, fiberglass, plastic or plastic-lined steel containers." The manufacturer does prohibit the use of this product with galvanized steel or any other steel other than stainless steel. You should check with the manufacturer of your sprayer to be sure that the metal parts on your sprayer are stainless steel.

    What would you recommend for killing a weed called "creeping charlie"?
    A
    When treating for creeping charlie it is best to usually spot treat the growth with a glyphosate or round up type product.  This is the best option.  This would be if it is growing in ornamental areas or places where you can treat it individually.  If that is not an option and it is growing into your grass, you can use Speedzone herbicide which is labeled for selectively killing weeds in turf grass.

    What weed killer can I spray around fences and fence posts to keep the grass around there from growing back?
    A
    If you are just looking to kill existing grass in a small area, you should treat with a professional glyphosate product like our Ranger Pro product.  This kills grass for longer than typical round up, but eventually it will grow back.  If you really do not want anything to grow back, you can use a soil sterilant.  These products need to be used according to the label though, they are very powerful and can move through the soil, so if there is anything around the posts you would want to not kill, you should not use a soil sterilant.

    Ranger Pro Herbicide is not labeled for aquatic use. We do carry Diquat Water Weed and Landscape Herbicide, Reward Land and Aquatic Herbicide and Rodeo Herbicide which are labeled for use in and around bodies of water.

    Does Ranger Pro kill annual bluegrass?

    Ranger Pro is a glyphosate product, so it is meant to kill anything it touches.  So yes, it will kill annual bluegrass, but it will also kill any other grass that it touches.

    How long after spraying glyphosate is it safe to plant?

    Glyphosate products like Ranger Pro, Round Up, etc do not stay active in the soil very long at all.  You can replant after as little as two weeks after applying a glyphosate product.

    What ratio per gallon of Ranger Pro should the average homeowner mix to control normal weed growth?
    I've been using roundup concentrate in the past, at @ 3 oz. per gallon in my sprayer. I've just tried out Ranger Pro at @ the same ratio, but it doesn't appear to work the same. By all accounts, this is the same product under a different name. Should I be expecting the same results?

    Ranger Pro is comparable to Round Up but each manufacturer does have their own recommended usage rates. Ranger Pro moves through the plant from the point of foliage contact to and into the root system. Visible effects are a gradual wilting and yellowing of the plant, which advances to complete browning of above ground growth and deterioration of underground plant parts. Effects are visible on most annual weeds within 2 to 4 days, but on most perennial weeds, effects may not be visible for 7 days or more. Extremely cool or cloudy weather following treatment may slow activity of this product and delay development of visual symptoms. The amount of Ranger Pro Herbicide you will use per gallon of water will vary from 2/3 fl oz - 13 fl oz per gallon of water depending on what type of plant you are trying to eliminate. Please refer to the Ranger Pro product label for exact usage instructions.

    Is your soil sterilant and RangerPro concentrated and if so what is the mix per gallon?

    Ranger Pro Herbicide can be used in and around a vegetable garden plot (keep away from any desirable plants) but you should wait at least two weeks before you plant anything in the area where the product was applied.

    Is Rangerpro toxic to birds, butterflies, bees, or fish?

    Ranger Pro should not harm insects or birds unless they are sprayed with the product or contact areas before they have dried. Ranger can be harmful to fish if it is applied to bodies of water which is against the product label instructions. Ranger Pro is labeled for use in wildlife areas and in wildlife food plots.
